The Last Paradox Releases Alt-Rock EP “Misery”

Alt-Rock band The Last Paradox releases their first EP with Lamon Records today. The Mt. Vernon, IL trio have been hard at work honing their sound and recorded in Nashville at the start of 2015. Their first single, “Shadows,” hits radio stations today as well.
Brothers Jarell and Javi James along with their friend Chris Kendrick recorded the EP at Kingswood Studios in Nashville and produced by Lamon Records president and CEO Dave Moody. Javi says recording their project was a dream come true. “Being in the studio in Nashville was better than we could have ever imagined.  Everyone with Lamon made our experience top notch, from how gifted they all were, to how courteous they were to us, letting us try even our most bizarre concoctions.  We felt like everyone involved was on a team with us and we were all working to make the best sound possible.”

Their first single, “Shadows” pairs a hard rock track with uniquely personal and identifiable lyrics. Their goal from the start was to make music that celebrated the underdog with tunes to let loose to. This project has achieved just that. Their songwriting process is particularly special to them.

“What we find interesting and unique is that we are all song writers,” says Javi, “and we all think differently, although we have one harmonious outlook.  The reason we find this interesting is that you can take one topic, for instance, relationship troubles, and we have two different songs on our EP telling two different stories, and it works smoothly because they were written by two different people.”

The Last Paradox hopes to not only reach a broad audience with their music, but inspire the listeners to dive deeper into their lyrics and share their experiences. They are aiming for the stars as far as touring goes, but for now, intimate venues and personal relationships with fans are what make them happiest.

“If we can just get one person to share that, to feel what we feel, then that is a beautiful thing.”
