Produced by Grammy nominated producer and label president Dave Moody, and engineered and mixed by Academy of Country Music Award winning engineer Steve Marcantonio at the legendary Sound Emporium in Nashville, Country Country has all the right elements to feed the appetite of today’s traditional country music lover.

The collection which features two original songs by the artist was produced in Nashville, TN by Grammy nominated and Dove Award winning producer Dave Moody.  Steve Marcantonio (Taylor Swift, The Band Perry, Natalie Grant) engineered the tracks at the Sound Emporium. More about the Artist:  Christy Barber was raised in Syracuse, NY with both her parents and two older brothers. Her parents were both musicians so it was easy for her to get into music. Before she was 5 she was in love with singing. Her brothers used to beg her parents to make her stop singing when they were in the car. Christy was in school musicals and choirs all through her school years.

One memory she recalls is singing on Christmas Eve in her church at 10 years old.  “I sang Amy Grant’s ‘Emmanuel’” recalls Christy.  I will always remember how I wasn’t nervous at all. I couldn’t wait to get up there and sing. It was a turning point for me. I fell in love with performing and singing.”

Since then she has sung in numerous musicals and plays at college. She worked as a soloist at Camp of the Woods for 4 summers. She also toured to Europe with the Continental Singers. Most recently, you can find her singing in an acoustic duo where she lives, and giving back as she sings in nursing homes as part of her ministry.

Christy was signed by Lamon Records the summer of 2011 at the Gideon Film Festival.  “It was a dream come true for me,” recalls Christy.  Having Dave Moody come up to me and offer to sign me as an artist just blew me away.”

Christy credits her Saviour Jesus, for all her gifts. Without Him, she would not have anything to write or the ability to sing. Her relationship with him, all the peaks and valleys, have given her so much to write about. She went through a really deep valley in 2002. Her life was shaken really hard as well as her faith. Going through that fire, gave her a new relationship with God and a passion for sharing her story and giving hope to those that are hurting or feel rejected.

“I hope that my music can reach those who need to hear it the most,” reflects Christy. “People who feel rejected that no one cares. I am here to share that there is someone so awesome who cares. He is “Love’s Sweet Salvation!”

Winner of the 2011 Music Artist Talent Search and Songwriter Competition at the nationally known Gideon Media Arts Conference and Film Festival, producer Dave Moody and Lamon Records soon signed Erin to a recording and publishing contract. The result is this powerful debut music collection.

Tracks include the title cut, Without the Dark, Words, Away, and Hope for the Broken, the song she entered and performed in both the Artist and Songwriter competition at the Gideon.

“I hope listeners are inspired to push through hard times in their lives,” says Erin about her upcoming EP. “I want to give people hope and make sure they know there is somewhere to turn when they are stuck and lonely.”

Bobby Dean, who’s first three singles on Lamon Records climbed the New Music Weekly Country Charts in 2011, has received two nominations.  He is nominated for Male Artist of the Year and Breakthrough Artist of the Year by readers and radio station professionals that report to the Los Angeles based music trade magazine.

• Bobby Dean, a modern traditional country music artist from Seattle hit the airwaves with several singles that caught on at radio around the country.  Hank On The Radio (Top 10 New Music Weekly), Rebound (Top 5 NMW and Top 100 Music Row), and White Lightning or Pink Champagne (his current single still climbing the charts).  His latest video is playing everywhere.

• Americana songstress Kathryn Scheldt‘s Almost Cheating and singer/songwriter Kimberly Patrick‘s Livin’ Good continue to climb the NMW Country Charts as we head into the New Year. Rose Angelica‘s “real life” Americana songwriting also earned her a significant amount of airplay in 2011 from a slew of terrestrial and alternative broadcasters.

• Teen country artist and songwriter Courtney Stewart caused quite a stir with the release of her new EP Where Will I Fit In and the accompanying video/single  Telling You.  The video immediately shot to the top of the Yallwire Video Charts, Only Lyrics Video Charts (Top 10), and was featured on such national and regional shows as Music Row Profiles, Pulse TV, Foxx Traxx, More Music, Capital Chaos, and many others.

• Elevating Entertainment’s movie No Limit Kids was nominated for Best Feature Film by the Coalition for Quality Children’s Media in San Francisco.  The film was also honored with a 2011 Silver Telly Award and is now available on Apple iTunes for rent and purchase.  Dave Moody won the El Capitan Crystal Award as Director of the Beth Roose animated film Jimmy Paul during the Yosemite Film Festival. And Josh Moody graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville with a History/Film Studies degree and is now our V.P. of Creative Operations.

• Then, there’s the screenwriters we’re working with on several projects that broke new ground in 2011. Rusty Whitener received two Christy Award nominations for his novel A Season Of Miracles which Elevating Entertainment will be producing as a feature film in 2012. Beverly Vernado was a semi-finalist in Jerry Jenkins’ Operation First Novel Contest, sponsored by Tyndale House and had her novel published.  And recently, perhaps the “way to go” trophy or “at-a-boy” should go to actor/writer/comedian Torry Martin for his appearance in Taylor Swift’s “Office Par0dy.”  Torry joined Marshal Younger as one of the co-writers of our Just 18 Summers screenplay that we’re developing as part of a broader literary brand with Michelle Cox. Stay tuned for more on this exciting new venture in 2012 and beyond.

• Lamon released George Hamilton IV and Friends Old Fashioned Hymns, featuring such guests as Pat Boone, Ricky Skaggs, Charlie Pride, George Beverly Shea and many others, which earned a 2011 Dove Award Nomination for George IV, The Moody Brothers and bluegrass legend Del McCoury.

Teenage artist and songwriter Erin Jamieson won both categories and spent the fall in the studio producing her debut EP which will be released in early 2012.

• And finally, label founder and master-fiddler Dwight Moody was honored by the Charlotte Music Awards with its “Life Time Achievement” Award.  He celebrated his 82nd birthday on December 26th.

• Christian artist/songwriter Christy Barber recently recorded her new soon to be released EP at the Sound Emporium with Dave Moody producing and Steve Marcantonio engineering.  She wrapped up vocal recordings at Quad Recording Studios in Nashville.  Watch for her 2012 release.

• Christian duo band Rythmicure (Dan and Karla Trittle) wrapped up overdubs and mixes for their 2012 release Solid Rock at dLAB Studios in Nashville. The album features re-purposed lyrics by the artist set to classic rock songs.

• 2011 Gideon Music Artist Talent Search and Songwriter Competition Winner Erin Jamieson has been at Kingswood Studios recording her new 4 song EP with producer Dave Moody.  Erin also played piano on the sessions.

• Christian country and bluegrass songwriter/artist Ron Clevenger was recently in Nashville recording vocals for his new album at Kingswood Studios.
